Biografía de Jorge Luis Borges, directed by Mariano Llinás and produced by Laura Citarella and El Pampero Cine, traces the life of Jorge Luis Borges through the papers he left behind, the books he read, and the places he inhabited. Meticulously researched and audacious in form, the film approaches Borges as a mysterious territory shaped by literature, memory, and cinema. Following its world premiere Out of Competition at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, the film is being presented at the Toronto International Film Festival and the 64th New York Film Festival.

About the conversation
ISLAA is pleased to present two conversations around Biografía de Jorge Luis Borges, a new film by Mariano Llinás, produced by Laura Citarella and El Pampero Cine, with the support of ISLAA.
Bringing together Mariano Llinás, Ernesto Montequín, and Ariel Aisiks, the conversations will explore the research and creative process behind the film and its distinctive approach to the life and work of Jorge Luis Borges.
Tracing Borges through the papers he left behind, the books he read, and the places he inhabited, the film approaches the writer not merely as a subject, but as a territory shaped by literature, memory, and cinema.
