Vistas 9—Kenneth Kemble and Silvia Torras: The Formative Years, 1956–63 focuses on the painters Kenneth Kemble and Silvia Torras, two critical figures in the global story of abstract art in the mid-twentieth century. This issue is dedicated to the Spring 2023 Duke House Exhibition.
The Duke House Exhibition Series brings contemporary art to the walls of the Institute of Fine Arts’s landmarked James B. Duke House. The work is displayed in the beaux-arts interior of the former residence of the Duke family, juxtaposing the historic with the contemporary and inviting viewers to engage with both the past and the future of the institute. Since 2019, ISLAA has been proud to support the Duke House Exhibition Series in its showcasing of the work of Latin American artists.
